Kamloops, BC - Affordable housing options on the North Shore in Kamloops will expand as The Confluence officially opens its doors. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on May 28, 2026, at 346 Campbell Avenue. The event formally marks the completion of the 80-unit affordable housing development and celebrates a significant milestone in increasing the region’s rental housing supply.
The Confluence offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes, including deep subsidy units, rent geared to income housing, and affordable market rentals designed to meet a range of housing needs and income levels across the community.
“The Confluence is about more than just units. It is about stability, reflecting our vision of creating an intergenerational housing community in the heart of the Tranquille Village” said Bob Hughes, Executive Officer, ASK Wellness Society. “We aim for this to be a building where seniors, families, and individuals can put down roots in a place they’re proud to call home.”
The development was made possible through partnership with BC Housing, which has supported the project as part of broader provincial efforts to expand affordable housing supply across B.C.
“People need access to more homes that fit their needs and budgets,” said Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. "These new homes in Kamloops give residents more choices so they can stay in the community they’ve built their lives in. Expanded housing options in Kamloops are a result of strong partnerships that will support the diverse and growing needs of people in the community.”
Introducing Cornerstone Affordable Homes
The opening of The Confluence also marks the public launch of Cornerstone Affordable Homes (Interior), the new rental housing sub-brand for ASK Wellness Society's growing portfolio. Cornerstone brings together more than 275 affordable homes across Kamloops and Merritt under a single operating brand. This distinction aims to provide a clearer distinction between affordable rental housing and program-based services.
The Confluence is the newest addition to the Cornerstone portfolio.
"Cornerstone Affordable Homes reflects where we are headed as an organization," said Bob. "We have been delivering affordable housing for years, and this is about bringing that work together under a clear identity, one that communities and tenants can recognize and trust. The Confluence is a proud example of what Cornerstone stands for."
