Food Services: 2 Meals: Breakfast and Dinner.
Staffing: Two staff on site, which may include a tenant support worker (TSW), a community living TSW, and/or an LPN. Supported by a Program Coordinator.
Health Component: Full-time LPN, pharmacy deliveries, Overdose Prevention Services (OPS), and an in-house FTIR drug checking program.
Supports: Case management, practical life-skills support (including assistance with forms, technology, resumes, and other day-to-day needs), connections and referrals to community resources and services, laundry facilities, harm reduction, food security, crisis support, and a common room for social and recreational use.
Description
Situated on Winnipeg Street, Burdock House offers 58 units, providing essential support and housing for residents in need. It provides vulnerable members of our community with safe and affordable housing with harm reduction services. The program supports connection to community resources such as medical, mental health, and substance use. An on-site LPN provides individualized health supports. The program provides emotional support and advocacy to individuals facing barriers and prioritizes individual well-being through tailored wellness planning, supporting individual's health, welfare, and safety.
A pre-requisite to housing at Burdock House includes the completion of a Vulnerability Assessment Tool (VAT) and the Supportive Housing Registry (SHR) application.
