Honouring Our History and Driving Our Mission
The candlelight vigil and inspiring speaker sessions provided moments of reflection and unity. We are deeply grateful to every community member who joined us. Your presence brought warmth, strength, and reaffirmed the shared purpose that defines our work.
The support we receive, from the early days when we were the AIDS Society of Kamloops, right through to today, is the engine that drives our mission. The compassion, advocacy, and willingness of our community to show up is what contributes most significantly to our work and our ability to combat stigma.
Leadership and Dedication in Action
This year's event was organized by our dedicated Health Navigation Team members, Cookie Reimer and Elisha Noyes. We extend our sincere appreciation to Cookie and Elisha, along with the Health Navigation team, for their leadership and support.
The evening culminated in a communal moment where attendees shared food and baked goods. It was a beautiful expression of community and care. We also took a moment to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: Cookie has been volunteering with ASK Wellness Society for more than three decades, and this marked her remarkable 30th World AIDS Day involvement. Her unwavering dedication serves as an enduring inspiration for our staff, Board, and program participants.

We carry the immense resilience of our past into the future, as the work of supporting people living with HIV is ongoing. We at ASK remain committed every day, working to see reduced transmission rates and dismantled stigma, while helping folks access health resources and guiding them with the support they need to live healthy lives.
Thank you to every walker, volunteer, staff member, and ally who help to make this essential work possible. Together, we continue to move confidently toward a future where compassion, care, and understanding lead the way.
