Thanks to the Women of Steel campaign, we received approximately 80 pairs of gently used work boots. Through their “Booting Down Barriers” initiative, donation bins at worksites collected boots that might otherwise have been discarded. These boots have been distributed to community groups and non-profits, offering free access to anyone in need while keeping waste out of the landfill. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this innovative and thoughtful campaign!

Our team participated in A Way Home Kamloops’ Campout to End Youth Homelessness. Through collective effort and unwavering dedication, ASK Wellness Society staff raised $1,585, contributing to the campaign’s impressive total of $55,000 so far. We’re proud to support this important cause and grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Islamic Relief Canada brought holiday cheer to our community with the donation of 20 survival kit backpacks. Their commitment to spreading kindness across the province ensures our community stays warm and cared for during the cold season. We deeply appreciate their generous contributions and compassionate hearts.

The Community Living Program celebrated the season with its annual holiday brunch and movie event, held in collaboration with Interior Community Services. Participants gathered at Desert Gardens to enjoy a delicious breakfast of eggs, hashbrowns, sausages, bacon, and orange juice, followed by a screening of the classic holiday film Miracle on 34th Street. It was a wonderful opportunity to share joy and connection with our program participants and one of our incredible local partner agencies.

Our Housing Outreach team in Kamloops hosted its first SRSP Turkey Lunch, creating a warm and welcoming space for participants in the Supported Rent Supplement Program (SRSP) and members of the Rapid Rehousing Program. SRSP helps individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing rent assistance and services to support stability and personal wellbeing. This lunch was a meaningful afternoon filled with delicious food and community connection.

We are grateful to New Gold for their incredible donation of 8 hams and 20 turkeys. These contributions allowed us to distribute holiday meals to families and individuals in need, spreading warmth and nourishment to those we serve during the festive season.

A heartfelt thank-you to Saint Vincent de Paul for their donation of 200 seasonal gift bags. These thoughtful packages were distributed to participants in our Seniors Housing Programs and Supportive Housing Programs, bringing holiday cheer and essential items to those in our community. Their generosity truly made a difference this season and brought joy to 200 unsuspecting (and grateful) individuals.

This month has been a testament to the strength of community and the impact of giving. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the individuals, organizations, and partners who made these moments possible. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Here’s to carrying this spirit of compassion into the new year!
