Kamloops, BC - ASK Wellness Society is proud to announce the recent purchase of 174 and 182 Tranquille Road on Kamloops' North Shore. This acquisition will support both current programming and long-term plans to meet the evolving needs of the community.
The properties will service the immediate needs of the Society's Property Services Administration team and will provide a stable, centralized location for the Community Living Program (CLP). Funded by Community Living BC (BLBC), this vital program supports adults with developmental disabilities by fostering life skill development, community connection, and social inclusion. The program currently provides services to 68 individuals.
In the future, the Society plans to explore affordable housing opportunities for families and seniors at these locations. Future development will be designed to complement the ingoing delivery of the Community Living Program and administrative functions on the ground floor, ensuring continuity of service while addressing the pressing need for accessible and affordable housing in Kamloops. As the Society awaits these future opportunities, it will continue to lease two of the suites on site to help service the financing of these properties.
"This purchase represents our ongoing commitment to responding to the needs of the community," says Bob Hughes, Executive Officer of ASK Wellness Society. "By investing in these properties, we're not only securing space for essential services today, but we're also continuing to build the foundation for inclusive, affordable housing solutions in the future."
For over 20 years the North Shore has been the home of the Society's Kamloops operations. With this purchase, the Society is reaffirming its long-term commitment to supporting the growing needs of this diverse and dynamic neighbourhood.
